Growing up in an agricultural setting in Rehobeth, Alabama, J.P. Kelley started farming with his father in 1986 and took over the small commercial cattle herd when his dad become ill in 2009. In 2011, J.P. and his wife, Linda, acquired a small beef master herd which has continued to grow. In 2021 J.P. was discussing his vision for his beef master herd with a close friend, Carey Slay and after much prayer and exchanging information and visions, J.P., Linda and Carey Slay formed Kelley Genetics, LLC. Together, their vision is to raise beefmaster cattle with the goal focused on proven genetic architecture, feed efficiency utilization, and EPD improvements. Simply put - provide seed stock for commercial cattlemen who can trust that every heifer, bull, embryo, or semen that is purchased from KG is among the very best in the beef master arena and build a pure bred herd second to none.
